The Covid Recovery Certificate is generated when you have Covid-19 and are thought to be immune. This means you’re unprepared for germ imbalance in the future.
A Covid Recovery Document and Covid Recovery Certificate are the same certificates, although they are sometimes referred to as Proof of Covid Restoration, Covid Recovery Letter, Covid Recovery Certificate, Documentation of Restoration, and Proof of Natural Immunity. They demonstrate that you have had Coronavirus previously but are unlikely to have it now, so your natural immunities should protect you from Coronavirus.
The benefits is that you will not need to take Antigen or PCR test and risk of testing positive the risk of doing so is very high. In addition provided you are eligible the The results turnaround time is very quick and no testing is required giving you the confidence and peace of min to focus on other travel commitments.
Only individuals who have tested positive for COVID on a PCR test within the past 180 days and who have not had any symptoms of COVID in the last seven days are eligible for a COVID-19 Recovery Certificate.
You will need to provide to submit answers to a list of questions and if eligible upload proof of a Positive Covid certificate, valid within 6 months from when the sample was taken. This can be a PCR or Antigen Lateral Flow test or an NHS notification. Once we have received your certification we will review and send a recovery certificate to your email within 3 hours from submission.
Apart from travel, the recovery certificate is particularly in important meetings, work-related events and certain public events such as mass gatherings that may have rules in place to accept either proof of a recent, negative PCR or Antigen test taken within a certain timeframe before attendance. This also minimises the risk of infecting others.
Provided you do not have any symptoms within 48 hours after the 7th day, evidence provided by Public Health England suggests that after seven days on Covid-19, most people would have recovered and no longer be infectious.
If you are still unwell on or after the 7th day, it is probable that you have not recovered yet and the guidance is then to review your symptom-free period for at least 48 hours until you can consider yourself recovered.
Provided you are symptom free on day 8 (after day 7) and or not symptomatic within 48, you can be considered to have been recovered and eligible to apply for a Covid Recovery Certificate.
The average immunity from natural antibodies in individuals can range from 6-12 months, meaning that, on average, most people will still have antibodies within 180 days.
However, each country defines its travel certificate requirements differently, so we recommend that you check the .gov.uk website for the latest requirements from the country you are visiting. Some may accept up to a 30-day recovery certificate from the date it was issued; others may require a 6-month (180-day) certificate. It is the applicant’s responsibility to check this information before any consideration is made to take the online questionnaire and submit the assessment.
You cannot take your test no earlier than the 8th day from receiving a positive Covid test result. This condition is only valid provided you have been symptom free for at least 48 from day 8 as a minimum timeframe to be eligible to apply for a covid recovery certificate. These conditions are set to ensure high standard of safety to others is upheld and travellers can be confident that others are not infectious to others.
After 7 full days from receiving your positive Covid result provided you have been without covid symptoms for 2 fully days or 48 hours.
This will be determined by your destination. Only PCR tests are acceptable in some countries, while others will accept any type provided the sample was not taken by themselves without supervision by qualified healthcare professional as well as an accredited provider. We do not accept test cassette photographs. A healthcare professional must verify your tests for a genuine certificate to be generated from a UKAS accredited provider.
